WHY YOU MUST ADD ACHAAR/ PICKLE TO YOUR MEALS?

You could be from any part of India and achaars would add tons of flavour to even your basic dal chawal. The ingredients change from state to state, the method of preparation change every few kilometres. Pickles and achaars are something that is enjoyed. 

As an Indian, Achaars/ Pickles are an indispensable part of all my meals- breakfast, lunch and dinner. I remember that when I was shifting cities for my studies, the first thing that would reach my flat was the achaars that my mom made. It was impossible for me to eat anything that was made without the achaar. A spoon of achaars brought me back to my home and made the meals 100000x better. 

You can enjoy your pickles with paratha, rice, dal, roti, sabzi, any other dish that you like. It is packed with spices, masalas, flavours etc and adds a burst of flavours to your plate without fail. 

As per the top Nutritionist of India i.e. Rujuta Diwekar- Pickles are a good source of Vitamin K, Vitamin A and has probiotic bacteria. She also states that a little portion of pickles with your daily meals gives your body the right combination of pre and probiotic. As per Macrobiotic Nutritionist Shilpa Arora- Pickles is a way to ferment and eat certain fruits and vegetables all around the year. If the fruits and vegetables are preserved with natural ingredients like homemade spices and cold-pressed mustard oil in the right proportion, it is healthy for the gut because the fermentation reboots the body and generates healthy gut bacteria.
